5 day West Coast group tour of Ireland

This tour will explore South West Ireland’s history, culture and scenery. You will see ancient monasteries and castles alongside the drama of the stunning sea cliffs as well as walking along magnificent beaches and discovering prehistoric ruins. On top of all this you will also meet the locals in traditional inns and sample the local cuisine.
Stay 1 night in Galway and 3 nights in the lively little town of Killarney.

Day 1 - Dublin, Galway

GalwayYou will leave Dublin and head west making a stop off in Kilbeggan and visit Locke’s Distillery where you can sample the local Whiskey. You will then continue your journey on into Clonmacnoise which is situated on the banks of the Shannon River where you can discover one of the most significant early Christian sites. Following this you will visit a traditional village pub before finishing your day in Galway.

Day 2 - County Clare, Cliffs of Moher, The Burren

Cliffs of MoherYou will spend today exploring County Clare and the history and scenery of The Burren. You will spend the afternoon at the magnificent Cliffs of Moher which are 214m at the highest point and range for 8km over the Atlantic boasting one of Ireland’s most spectacular views. You will then make the crossing to the Shannon estuary arriving in Killarney where you will spend the next 3 nights.

Day 3 - Dingle Peninsula

DingleToday you will explore the Dingle Peninsula which stretches 30 miles into the Atlantic and is dominated by the range of mountains that form its spine, running from the SlieveMish range to Mount Brandon, Ireland’s highest peak. You will see ancient religious sites and forts, beaches and the Dingle all surrounded by offshore Islands.

Day 4 - Ring of Kerry

KerryToday you will travel around the Ring of Kerry. The peninsular is part of the mystical and unspoilt region of Ireland which has attracted visitors for hundreds of years. Here you will explore the scenery and history of small fishing villages, stunning beaches, ancient ring forts and historic houses.

Day 5 - Cork, Blarney, Kilkenny

CorkToday you will travel eastwards through the mountains in West Cork and making a stop off in Blarney. Whilst you are there will can spend some time exploring the village as well as making a visit to the castle and gardens where you will see the famous Blarney Stone. On your way back to Dublin you will make a stop off at both the Rock of Cashel and in Kilkenny before ending your trip back in Dublin.
